Take Action: Superintendent Thurmond and P-EBT

Published on Jun 12, 2020 in Child Nutrition, Federal Advocacy, Immigrants, School-Aged Children, State Administration

Today, CFPA and partners called on Superintendent Thurmond to help connect California students with critical food resources during the COVID-19 public health emergency by leading school districts across the state in the promotion of P-EBT and effective, efficient outreach to eligible families.

We also ask that the CA Department of Education and the CA Department of Social Services request an extension to the June 30, 2020 application deadline for P-EBT. Whether or not the deadline is extended, school districts must engage in timely, critical outreach to families so no child goes without these much-needed benefits.
