Q: What do I need to do in order to submit my proposal?

Use the following form to share your session idea as best as you can. Please state your proposed session title and description at a minimum, as well as the desired format of your session.

Q: When will this form close?

We will close the call for proposals on June 5, 2026.

Q: When will I be notified if I was selected to lead a session?

All individuals who submitted a session will be notified of their status by Early July.

This year, we’re inviting advocates, organizers, outreach workers, community members, and anyone working toward food justice to help shape the 2026 CalFresh Forum. We know the best ideas come from real people doing the work and living the realities that shape the policies that impact their lives.

Want to lead a small group talk, panel presentation, storytelling session, or creative activity? Submit your proposal using the short form below. Our staff and proposal reviewers will carefully review your proposal and notify you of our selection in the coming months.

How would you want to share this idea?

Small group or roundtable discussion

- This is ideal if you envision open conversations and discussions around a collective issue. Everyone has a chance to contribute and ideas can be shared freely. There is usually no formal presenter or speaker, but as a facilitator, you would help support the flow of the conversations.

Panel-style presentation

- This is ideal if you want to invite other speakers to present and/or share their expertise & insights around a program, initiative, or an idea.

Storytelling or lived experience session

- This is ideal if you want to speak to your personal experience and want to host a space for others to share their stories and experiences together.

Brainstorming workshop

- This is ideal if you want to convene people to think of ideas and solutions to address a specific problem, or explore new opportunities together.

Creative activity (music, visuals, art, etc.)

- This is ideal if you want people to participate in a collective activity to organize around an issue or idea. You can also think of integrating creative media to your session, such as music, visuals, and/or art.

FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS ONLY: Community members are individuals not associated with an organization or affiliation, who would be covering the cost of their own ticket for the CalFresh Forum. We want to help lower the barriers for you to be able to participate as a speaker if your session is selected. What support would help you better prepare for your session?
