9.4.2012 On Wednesday, August 22, AB 1594 passed the Senate floor with a vote of 22-13. The bill then returned to the Assembly on Tuesday, August 28 for concurrence on amendments taken in the Senate and passed with a vote of 51-29. AB 1594 is now headed to the Governor for signature on or before Sunday, September 30.
AB 1594 would extend the needy-student meal requirement to California charter schools ensuring that all low-income public school students have access to affordable meals.
