3.07.2013 Daughters of Charity-MSC help enroll low-income patients at St. Francis Medical Center into CalFresh.Los Angeles County  Department of Public Social Services currently has more than one million individuals enrolled in the CalFresh program. However only half of  eligible participants have access to this nutritional assistance program. To help bridge this gap, DPSS has built partnerships with community organizations like Daughters of Charity Ministry Services Corporation to promote, encourage and assist individuals to apply and retain their CalFresh benefits. This type of partnership with DPSS benefits individuals who are considered to in hard to reach populations. By making CalFresh outreach and enrollment services available at locations where likely eligible participants are receiving other types of services has served as a convenience for working families who still require additional resources to make ends meet.
