House Splits Farm Bill, SNAP Left Behind

Published on Jul 12, 2013 in Federal Advocacy

7.12.2013 On Thursday the House passed a pared-back farm bill, which excluded SNAP, by a 216-208 vote. No Democrats voted to pass the measure, which effectively leaves the nutrition title vulnerable to severe cuts. CFPA is working with local and national partners to strategize next steps to protect and preserve SNAP as Farm Bill negotiations proceed.
