CFPA Board of Directors Welcomes Jess Yuen, JD

8.14.2015 On behalf of the Board of Directors of the California Food Policy Advocates (CFPA), Chair Valerie Ruelas announced the addition of Jess Yuen to the Board. Ms. Yuen’s candidacy was approved at the July 2015 meeting of Directors.

“Jess Yuen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Board service with CFPA,” said Ms. Ruelas. “Her background in policy and philanthropy, and her strong community connections in San Diego make her an excellent addition to the governing Board of California Food Policy Advocates.”

Ms. Yuen is currently the Director of Strategic Initiatives with the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation. Previously, she was Director of Strategic Initiatives for Price Philanthropies and prior to that she was a policy advisor at the White House. Ms. Yuen is a resident of San Diego.

For over 20 years, CFPA has researched, incubated, and advanced real world policy solutions that increase low-income Californians’access to healthy food. As a non-profit entity, CFPA relies on its Board of Directors to govern and to lead the organization into the future.
