CFPA Comments re: SNAP Retail Food Store Eligibility

Published on Sep 23, 2013 in CalFresh

9.23.2013 USDA recently circulated a Request for Information regarding SNAP retail environments, asking for input on the current ‘depth of stock’ requirements for SNAP retailers, the definition of ‘staple foods,’ etc. CFPA sees this as a great opportunity to ensure improved access to nutritious food. CFPA supports efforts to bolster SNAP retailer requirements either by increasing depth of stock requirements, redefining “staple foods,” or both.
