CFPA Convenes Child Care Stakeholders

Published on Oct 9, 2017 in Child Nutrition, Federal Advocacy, Young Children

10.09.2017 On Thursday, October 26th child care stakeholders will gather in Sacramento to help identify strategies for increasing access to child care and high quality nutrition environments. Leveraging the knowledge and expertise of our partners, CFPA in collaboration with the Nutrition Policy Institute and the Samuels Center will use the convening to identify strategies to increase access to high quality child care environments while supporting young children’s nutritional needs.

During the meeting, the Samuels Center and the Nutrition Policy Institute will share lessons learned from a recent study which analyzed the food and beverages served in licensed child care. The Nutrition Policy Institute will also present their research findings from a separate project which examined the effects of nutrition standards in licensed family child care homes. Their presentations will be followed by a facilitated discussion to help us identify strategies to increase access to child care while supporting young children’s nutritional needs.

Over the last ten years CFPA has worked to identify policy solutions that ensure all child care settings can help children grow up healthy.
