The Community Eligibility Provision: Act Now!

Take Action icon5.1.2014 The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a new opportunity for high-poverty schools to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students. All students deserve to be well nourished and ready to learn. Act now to ensure your students and schools benefit from CEP!

In the coming school year, CEP will be available to California for the very first time. The California Department of Education has released a list of schools and districts that are eligible for CEP. link

Eligible districts (and districts with eligible schools) must apply for CEP by June 30, 2014 in order to implement the provision in 2014-15. Our friends at the Center on Budget & Policy Priorities (CBPP) and the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) stand ready to support districts with technical assistance on CEP. Please contact:
