4.19.2013 It’s been just over a year since CFPA announced the launch of Los Angeles Unified School District’s Breakfast in the Classroom initiative. Read about the remarkable progress that has been made since then!LAUSD committed to expanding Breakfast in the Classroom to all LAUSD schools over three years. Since early March, LAUSD has served 9.4 million breakfasts in the classroom. This reflects a whopping increase of 89% in school breakfast participation. The district met its bold first-year goal of rolling out Breakfast in the Classroom in 279 schools, including six middle schools and four high schools. The successful implementation of the breakfast initiative is made possible by the ongoing support of the Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry Campaign and the amazing teamwork of LAUSD’s Food Services Division, LA Fund for Public Education, CFPA and many others.
