This free two-day training is designed for school personnel and community partners and provides tools to support an increase of fresh fruits and vegetables on school campuses.

  • Nutrition Education and Academic Connections
  • From the Garden to the Classroom
  • From the Garden to the Cafeteria
  • Comparative Tasting to Support Nutrition Education
  • Power Play Presentation
 

Notes:

1. This is approved as a Shaping Health as Partners in Education (SHAPE) workshop.

2. Network for A Healthy California program staff: Day one is not an allowable Network travel and training expense as it focuses primarily on food service related topics targeted for your Food Service SHAPE partners. Day two however is 100% allowable for Network for a Healthy California program staff.

Workshops are funded by a California Department of Food and Agriculture Specialty Crop Block Grant and co-sponsored by the California Department of Education. They are presented by UC Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems; Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County; and UC Davis Agricultural Sustainability Institute-Children’s Garden Program.
