11.26.2013 Today, November 26th, Congress reconvened for the lame duck session. The Farm Bill, which includes SNAP, has not yet passed through Congress and will likely be part of future budget discussions. We can’t let Congress forget about the 46 million Americans who rely on SNAP benefits. 

Pick up the phone for a Lame Duck Call-in Day on Wednesday, November 28. Join anti-poverty advocates across the nation and call 1-888-743-1097 (toll-free number provided by AFSCME). Enter your zip code to be connected directly to your Senators, or to reach your House Member, go to the switchboard.  Use this message:

I am calling [MEMBER’s NAME] to urge him/her to protect and strengthen SNAP and reject SNAP program cuts contained in the Senate Farm Bill and the House Agriculture Committee-passed bill.
