Language Access: A Note from the CalFresh Forum Planning Team

Published on Jul 31, 2025 in CalFresh

We want to be honest: this year, our outreach materials have only been made available in English and Spanish. Last year, we were able to offer more languages—and we know that language access matters.

Language access can open doors—or unintentionally close them.
We’re carrying that awareness with us as we plan the 2025 CalFresh Forum, and we’re committed to keeping this space as inclusive and welcoming as possible.

This year’s Forum will bring together people from across California to Compton College—community members, organizers, advocates, outreach providers, and policy leaders—who are working to remove barriers to food access and strengthen the safety net. We believe the most powerful change occurs when we create space for diverse voices, lived experiences, and ways of knowing.

We’ll be opening registration soon and can’t wait to share what’s new this year—including several days of events, community-centered conversations, and fresh ways to connect. Whether you’ve attended the Forum before or are thinking about joining us for the first time, we hope you’ll see yourself in this space.

Stay tuned for more updates—we can’t wait to welcome you.
