Every year, Nourish California engages in a process of listening and co-developing with communities to shape policies that ensure Californians have the food they need to thrive. Now more than ever, it is critical that we listen to those most affected by recent federal bills and actions.
This year, we are organizing four community convenings in partnership with local and statewide organizations. These gatherings will bring together community members who have experienced food insecurity and other systemic barriers. Each convening will create space for participants to share their concerns, lived experiences, and priorities around access to food.
By centering the voices of those most impacted, we will gain valuable insights into the ripple effects of HR 1 and other federal actions. These learnings will guide us in shaping policy proposals for 2026 and beyond.
These convenings are made possible through the support of The California Endowment.
