Sharing Input on Advancing Racial Justice and Equity
Nourish California submitted comments in response to a Request for Information from the United States Department of Agriculture on advancing racial justice and equity. Our comments elevated the insights and experiences of Californians experiencing poverty and food insecurity. Experiences rife with challenges in accessing federal nutrition programs. Racial discrimination, bias, poor treatment, language barriers, and inadequate benefit levels are a shared experience for far too many Californians.

What is the Deal with the Thrifty Food Plan?
On August 16th, The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a long-overdue update to the Thrifty Food Plan (TFP). The TFP update is welcomed news! Decades of evidence documented the Thrifty Food Plan to be out of date and increasingly unrealistic.

Interactive Webinar: Connecting Older Adults to Nutrition Supports
On August 26th, join Nourish California with our partners the California Office of Health Information Integrity (CalOHII) for a demonstration of a scenario developed from the State Health Information Guidance 2.0 (SHIG). We will discuss the clarity provided by the SHIG. We will explore how the navigation tool supports initiatives to better connect older adults to all eligible nutrition services and supports.
