04.06.2012 Governor Brown has proposed to cut $10.4 million in state reimbursement for non-Prop 98 child care facilities that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The state funding for CACFP programs has been in place since 1975 and helps support the serving of nutritious meals and snacks to low-income children in child care. In California, over 25,000 child care facilities participate in CACFP, translating to nearly 440,000 children served. Of these child care facilities, approximately 90% are non-Prop 98 agencies.
