Recent changes in California state policy may improve your school’s eligibility for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federal option that allows high-poverty schools to offer breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students and eliminates the need to collect traditional school meal applications. We know that there are many California schools that haven’t been able to make the numbers work for CEP in past years, but new programs and policies in California suggest taking another look. This webinar will explore new opportunities to directly certify students through Medicaid/Medi-Cal, what that means for your school’s identified student percentages (ISPs), and how changes to state policy support the adoption of CEP.
