Your Input Needed: Engage, Listen, Prioritize for 2018

Published on Sep 25, 2017

9.25.17 Over the past few months, CFPA has been listening to the input of hundreds of Californians from around the state. We heard your thoughts, concerns, and emerging opportunities to increase low-income Californians’ access to affordable, nutritious food. Now we’re asking for your help once more to tell us which issues should be prioritized in 2018. link

As we listened, we heard many recurring issues and themes in regards to the challenges Californians face in order to provide themselves and their families with the food we all need to live healthy lives.

  • Concerns about housing affordability and its impact on economic stability and hunger were forefront.

  • Federal threats to healthcare and the safety net loomed large.

  • Respondents voiced concerns about populations who may be most vulnerable to hunger and poor nutrition.

  • Many others voiced hope about possibilities to expand promising practices to improve food access throughout the state.

We’d love to hear your thoughts again as we narrow down our 2018 agendas for state legislation, federal advocacy, research and administrative advocacy. Please let us know what’s most important to you! It only takes a minute to respond: bit.ly/Food4All2018
