Take a few minutes to say thanks for funding for CalFresh simplification for seniors
We are happy to report that the 2021-22 State Budget includes funding for the policies proposed in SB 107 (Wiener). State leaders have listened to our broad coalition's call to make CalFresh easier for seniors and people with disabilities. We've achieved our shared goal of creating simplified application and ensuring all required forms can be completed over the phone.
We applaud Senator Wiener for his leadership on CalFresh simplification. We also thank our cosponsors — AARP-CA, California Association of Food Banks, and San Francisco-Marin Food Bank and our broad coalition of supporters for their tireless advocacy that propelled us to this point.
The legislature and Governor also deserve significant thanks. They listened and prioritized funding these important and helpful improvements to CalFresh. Please take a few minutes to thank the budget leaders who helped secure this historic win. You can use this form to send a personalized message to Senator Nancy Skinner, Senator Toni Atkins, Assemblymember Phil Ting, Assemblymember Anthony Rendon, and the Governor.
