SUN Bucks in California

SUN Bucks is a new program that helps families buy food for their children when schools are closed for the summer. Families will get $120 per eligible child to buy food at grocery stores, farmers markets, and more! Children who get SUN Bucks can still participate in other summer meals programs.

Using SUN Bucks will not affect immigration status.

Most children will automatically receive SUN Bucks, but there are still many families that will need to apply. Check in with your child's school or school district office to submit a school meals application or Universal Benefits Application before September 2, 2025 if you haven't done so already.
