11.26.12 CFPA will host two workshops this year at the California School Boards Association’s (CSBA) annual conference. If you’re going to be at the CSBA conference this year, please join us at our two workshops: School Meals Makeover & Best Practices for “Water in School” Compliance.
School Meals Makeover: Increasing District Revenue through Participation
Did you know that for every school meal served, your district receives federal and state reimbursement? A this session you will learn about tried and true strategies for eliminating or reducing encroachment on the general fund by increasing student participation in school meals, thus increasing revenue coming into the district. Our panelists from Turlock USD and Lemon Grove USD will offer strategies to help improve the image and appeal of school meals.
Date & Time: Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM
Room: 2005 (subject to change)
Best Practices for “Water in Schools” Compliance
Learn what you can do to support effective implementation of the state and federal “water in schools” requirements and why it matters. Hear what districts, like Ceres USD, are doing – and how they are paying for it – to ensure both short- and long-term compliance. Best practices will be discussed related to financing, partnerships, promotion and district policy. Representatives from the California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division and UCSF, Department of Pediatrics will also share what they are doing to promote water in schools.
Date & Time: Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM
