4.18.13 AB 290 (Alejo) Foundations for Healthy Nutrition in Child Care passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee yesterday. The bill was placed on the consent calendar, a set of non-controversial bills that are grouped together and voted on as a package during the committee hearing. AB 290’s committee analysis showed no significant costs to the state. Plus, AB 290 received a bipartisan vote (6-0) in the Assembly Human Services Committee and no other opposition. For these reasons, it was placed on consent calendar and unanimously voted out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee at the April 17th hearing. It will now move to the Assembly Floor! Stay tuned for upcoming advocacy opportunities.
