4.18.2013 AB 191 (Bocanegra) Strengthening the Connection between CalFresh and Medi-Cal was heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Appropriations Wednesday, April 17. Due to estimated costs cited in the committee analysis, the bill was moved to the suspense file. CFPA will work with the author and the committee to ensure all possible steps are taken to move AB 191 to the Assembly Floor.
AB 191 seeks to improve alignment between CalFresh and Medi-Cal to ensure that low-income households with a Medi-Cal recipient are more likely to also receive CalFresh nutrition benefits.
