6.26.2013 AB 191 (Bocanegra) passed the Senate Human Services Committee yesterday with a vote of 4-2. AB 191 is heading to the Senate Appropriations Committee and needs your support now more than ever! During its original introduction as AB 1560 (Fuentes) in 2012, the bill was held in the Senate Appropriations Committee due to fiscal concerns. CFPA has been working with the author’s office, committee staff, and other key stakeholders to address these concerns. In addition to these efforts, it is essential that as many AB 191 supporters as possible express their interest in seeing AB 191 move through the Appropriations Committee.
There is still time to submit your letter of support to the Appropriations Committee and/or make a phone call! This is particularly relevant if your Senator holds a position on the Senate Appropriations Committee. Voice your support for AB 191 today!
