CalFresh Performance & Customer Service Bill Introduced

Published on Feb 24, 2014 in CalFresh, State Legislation

2.24.2014 Senator Mark DeSaulnier (Concord) has introduced SB 1147 CalFresh Customer Service and Performance which seeks to ensure that CalFresh enrollment and participation are straightforward, consistent experiences for individuals and families throughout California. CFPA is proud to be co-sponsoring SB 1147 with the SF-Marin Food Bank and looks forward to a fruitful legislative session.

The bill would:

  • Establish, through a collaborative process including stakeholder input, statewide CalFresh customer service standards and performance goals.
  • Periodically monitor progress toward meeting those standards and goals.
  • Make statewide and county-level data indicators describing customer service and performance regularly available to the public via a dynamic data management tool.
