2022 Key Accomplishments

Published on Dec 13, 2022

Together, we have made incredible progress to address root causes of hunger and poverty through equitable, inclusive policies. This has been a very busy year for all of us – but we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the impressive achievements that Nourish California has made with your partnership!

Together, we:

  • Launched Thriving Transitions, a new campaign;
  • Secured $35.2 million in state funding to expand the California Food Assistance Program (CFAP) to income-eligible Californians ages 55 and older, regardless of immigration status, through our Food4All campaign;
  • Led advocacy efforts to extend the WIC Bump (Cash Value Benefit) through 2022, effectively increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables for more than 750,000 Californians;
  • Secured $5 million in state funding to design and implement the CalFresh Safe Drinking Water Pilot;
  • And so much more!

We thank our many partners and supporters, as well as the California legislative leaders and administrators who championed our proposals to create a California where every person has access to the food they need to thrive. Thank you!
