Rep. Farr Writes Op-ed Supporting School Nutrition Standards

8.11.2014 Representative Sam Farr of California’s 20th Congressional District wrote a commentary last Friday in the Monterey Herald responding to criticisms of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, a federal piece of legislation that, among other things, established improved the nutrition standards for schools. The Representative debunks several myths about the historic legislation and reminds the reader why access to high quality meals is so important.

“Let’s be clear, the program’s only goals are to make sure our tax dollars are not wasted on junk food in the schools and that every student has access to a healthy meal.”
