6.4.16 Last week, AB 2099 (Stone)-Safe Drinking Water Relief received bipartisan, support from the State Assembly with a 78-1-1 floor vote. Amendments were taken to add Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) as a co-author. AB 2099 now heads to the Senate Human Service Committee, which is chaired by Senator Mike McGuire.

With your support, AB 2099 will continue to move forward and in time leverage the State’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system to deliver interim, supplemental benefits to low-income California households without safe drinking water.

There are three steps you can take to support the bill and help families access safe drinking water in California:

1) Submit a letter of support — even if you already submitted one earlier this year, re-submit! (The Senate does not count letters received while the bill was in the Assembly). Download a customizable letter of support and instructions for submitting your letter. Doc
