Hello. My name is ________. I live in ______, CA. I am calling to ask Senator/Assemblymember ______ to fund early childhood nutrition, the California-Grown for Healthy Kids Program, and grants for breakfast after the bell in the state budget. Whether in preschool or high school all children deserve access to healthy, fresh school meals. California has some of the country’s highest costs of labor and living, yet today the federal assistance offered for school meals and the meals served in preschool is the same for California as it is for all other less expensive states. This makes a supplement to the federal reimbursement critical to ensuring that all children have access to healthy, fresh meals.
