CFPA Response to "Food Stamps: Follow the Money"

6.5.2012 On Tuesday, Eat Drink Politics released a report, “Food Stamps: Follow the Money”, which investigates “how the food stamp program – originally designed to help farmers and those in need – lines the pockets of junk food makers, food retailers, and banks.” Although the report focuses on transparency within SNAP, it overlooks several important considerations and paints a cloudy picture of who actually benefits from SNAP. CFPA has provided statements and feedback on each of the policy recommendations in the report.
