1.29.2013 Today the House passed H.R. 2642 which included nearly $9 billion in SNAP cuts. CFPA opposed the bill because of the negative impact of the cuts on low-income Californians. As the bill moves to the Senate, CFPA will continue to voice opposition to the SNAP cuts, urging Senators to reinvest the $9 billion (made by restricting Heat and Eat Provisions) into raising the basic benefit level.
