Food Not Fear: New Local Data on Public Charge

Published on Dec 7, 2018 in Immigrants

How will public charge hurt our communities? New local data from the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, the UC Berkeley Labor Center, and CFPA shows that proposed changes will drive people to disenroll from CalFresh & Medi-Cal, harming families, eliminating jobs, and hampering the CA economy.

Federal policies should support the promise of the American Dream. The proposed changes to public charge regulations are a racist, classist attack on working class immigrants.

What You Can Do

The federal administration must accept public comments on the proposed rule through December 10, 2018. Under federal law, administrators must read and consider every unique comment before issuing a final rule.

Every comment counts. We urge you to make your voice heard!
