6.3.2016 Earlier this week, AB 2054 (Thurmond) – Fight Hunger with Summer EBT for Children received bipartisan, unanimous support from the State Assembly
with a 80-0 floor vote. Amendments were taken to clarify that Summer EBT for Children is federally funded. Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) was added as a co-author. AB 2054 now heads to the Senate Human Service Committee, which is chaired by Senator Mike McGuire.
With your support, AB 2054 will continue to move forward.
There are three steps you can take to support the bill and help us fight child hunger.
1) Submit a letter of support — even if you already submitted one earlier this year! (The Senate does not count letters received while the bill was in the Assembly.) Download a customizable letter of support and instructions for submitting your letter. doc
