Your calls, emails, and tweets have made a difference. Over 20 organizations signed on in support of SB 782 and the bill passed off the Senate floor with a vote of 39-0! California’s senators told us they heard you loud and clear. Thank you for contacting your elected officials and telling them you support state funding to serve more California-grown food in freshly prepared school meals.
Over the next few weeks we will need your continued support in order to ensure SB 782 makes it to Governor Brown’s desk. Our first hurdle is moving SB 782 out of the Assembly Committee on Agriculture.
The Assembly Committee on Agriculture will need new, updated letters of support by Wednesday, June 14. Even if you have previously submitted a letter of support to the Senate, please send in an updated letter of support as soon as possible.
