Movement Messages: Legislative Advocacy in the Palm of Your Hand

Movement Messages is a Nourish California Short Message/Messaging Service (SMS) project.

This project is an easy way for you to get involved with legislative advocacy and receive resources for current hunger challenges. You can sign up to receive information about resources and opportunities to take action to ensure people have access to the food they need and want.

In support of our Thriving Transitions campaign, Nourish California is preparing to launch this project in Fall 2024.

What is Thriving Transitions?

Logo for the Thriving Transitions campaign. Includes campaign name and a leafy plant with roots.

Thriving Transitions works with formerly incarcerated Californians to remove barriers to food, housing, healthcare, and other resources before release. Grounded in a restorative justice framework, Thriving Transitions focuses on policy change that emphasizes healing and restoration of justice-involved individuals and communities. As a result, Movement Messages will be a valuable new way to complete this mission and reach more communities.

We are excited to work with our campaign co-sponsors, Root and Rebound, Justice in Aging, All of Us or None, and California State University Chico Center for Healthy Communities, to provide resources around this issue and get more people involved in this movement.

Thank you!

Thank you to The Crankstart Foundation for supporting our work as we find new ways to make legislative advocacy more accessible. Our state must be able to hear from everyone in order to make systemic change that helps all Californians.
