Diverse Perspectives to Inform & Effect Change
Each year, to develop our policy priorities, Nourish California seeks input from the people affected by—and engaged in—work that addresses food insecurity and other basic needs. We ask about the challenges and potential solutions that are most important to communities across California. These interactions take place throughout the year, but we do a deeper dive each fall.
Through listening sessions, one-on-one discussions, and surveys, we gather input from hundreds of stakeholders. We draw on these diverse perspectives, combined with lessons learned from other channels of research, to identify emerging issues as well as challenge, affirm, and broaden our existing policy priorities. From these efforts, we cultivate our annual state legislative, state administrative, federal policy, and policy research agendas.
