Nourish California harnesses research to illuminate problems, inform solutions, measure impact, and tell the human stories behind numbers. We pursue evidence-based policy change to prevent hunger and fight poverty. We also aim to support our allies by sharing analyses that can be integrated into their own work.
We use research to:
- Describe the scale of need and inequity in California
- Understand the human and economic impact of proposed policies
- Assess the reach and fiscal effects of existing programs
- Test new approaches
- Elevate the insights and experiences of Californians affected by poverty and food insecurity
We rely on the partnership of funders, researchers, and Californians with lived experience of hunger and poverty, among many others, to gather the data, perspectives, and understanding necessary to spark change. Everyone deserves food, dignity, and meaningful opportunities to thrive. Together, let’s ask and answer the questions that will help bring this important work to life.
