Join us in commenting on California’s Master Plan for Aging

Published on Oct 15, 2019 in CalFresh, State Administration

Recognizing that California’s aging population is expected to expand significantly over the next decade, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Executive Order N-14-19 earlier this year calling for the creation of a Master Plan for Aging by October 1, 2020. The Master Plan is intended to serve as a blueprint for how to prepare the state for the coming demographic shift. The Newsom administration is encouraging all Californians to share their ideas and suggestions for how we build an age-friendly California. We’ve identified opportunities that California can seize now to help more Californians age with food and dignity. We encourage you – our fellow anti-hunger advocates – to also share your recommendations with the Newsom administration for how we end the disparities that perpetuate poverty, hunger, and undermine the health of our aging population.
