Congress is using a special legislative process known as "budget reconciliation" to usher in historic new recovery legislation. This is a critical opportunity to disrupt poverty and ensure every Californian has enough to eat. Over the next few weeks, members of congress need to hear from you that funding for CalFresh and child nutrition must be included in budget reconciliation.

Please take a few minutes to reach out to your members of Congress. You can use this form to send a personalized message. Ask them to: support the child nutrition provisions included in the American Families Plan, but go further, by extending free school meals to ALL children and creating an out-of-school time EBT program that support's access to meals during extended school breaks. Congress also needs to hear about the importance of extending CalFresh benefit boosts to limit the depth and duration of food hardship caused by COVID-19.
