In this fact sheet, we assess the number of California students currently eligible for free school meals and anticipated effects of policies to expand the reach of school nutrition programs.

Extend the WIC Bump

The American Rescue Plan included a provision to help WIC families purchase fruits and vegetables. This extra support is helping nearly one million Californians improve the quality and quantity of foods they can purchase.  The WIC benefit bump is life-changing for many families, but it will end on September 30th without congressional action.
