Sign on Today! Tell State Budget Leaders We Need Food4All

Published on Jan 29, 2021 in CalFresh, Immigrants, State Legislation

Nourish California and California Immigrant Policy Center are asking state budget leaders to prioritize a permanent solution for reducing immigrant food insecurity in the 2021-2022 Budget Act. We urge you to sign on to our budget request letter asking the state to modernize the California Food Assistance Program to provide state-funded nutrition benefits to any Californian ineligible for CalFresh solely due to their immigration status.

This is an important first step in the Food4All campaign that will bring equity to our state's nutrition safety net. In addition to the budget request, we are sponsoring state legislation to enact the same long-term solution. Keep an eye out for opportunities to support the bill in coming weeks.

CalFresh and CFAP keep food on the table. All Californians should be able to access our most powerful anti-hunger program — if and when they need it. No exceptions. No exclusions.
