State Acts to Ease Burden on Parents Adding Newborns to CalFresh Household

This past year, Nourish California worked with the CA Department of Social Services (CDSS), county CalFresh administrators, and other stakeholders, to ensure that information surrounding newborn eligibility for CalFresh is communicated clearly to families and eligibility workers.

Together, we seek to expand the California Food Assistance Program to provide essential food assistance to California immigrants who are ineligible for federal CalFresh due solely to their immigration status.
